Lead Riding Instructor: SPIRIT Farms Riding Center at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin (Middleville, MI) is looking for an experienced riding instructor to serve as part of our Equestrian Staff team this summer. Applicants should be available June 3rd – August 20th, with options to begin in the spring and work into the fall. The Lead Riding Instructor’s responsibilities would include overseeing the care and well being of our Riding Camp and Community Riding Lesson Program’s Horses. Responsibilities of the position would also include teaching the advanced groups of summer horse campers, helping facilitate the community riding lesson program and overseeing the quality of the riding lessons and barn lessons being taught to all summer horse campers. $225/week with room and board included, also the potential for free board for one horse for the summer. Riding Instructors/Summer Horse Camp Counselors: SPIRIT Farms Riding Center at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin (Middleville, MI) is looking for riding instructors to serve as part of our Equestrian Staff team this summer. The summer begins June 3 with a CHA certification clinic. Responsibilities include instructing riding lessons, leading trail rides, assisting in all aspects of managing a 35 horse herd, supervision and planning of activities for 8-10 campers. The position requires experience working with horses and a desire to work with children. Summer Riding Instructors: Girl Scout Camp Maripai in the beautiful Prescott National Forest in Arizona is seeking Riding Instructors to work May 24 – Aug 2. We serve girls ages 7-17 in our summer equestrian program, Duties include caring for our 35 horses, schooling horses, teaching western group riding lessons, leading trail rides, and teaching un-mounted lessons (topics such as colors, parts of the horse, parts of tack, etc.). Applicants must have significant western riding experience, trail experience, and a desire to share their knowledge with youth. $230/week, meals and lodging, plus other excellent benefits are included. Camp Augusta is a residential summer camp located in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California. Our equestrian program is small, 10 horses. We teach predominantly Western riding with a small amount of English and offer both trail rides and basic arena work. We are hiring an Assistant Equestrian Director to assist in running our program. Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is looking for a Horseback Riding Director (min of 21 years old) and Horseback Riding Instructors (min of 18 years old) for its Residential summer Camp! Wildwood Girl Scout Center is located outside of Mt. Sterling Illinois, about an hour away from Quincy and an hour and a half from Springfield. Horseback riding staff receives pay plus room and board during the length of their contract. Contract length is about 4 weeks during the month of June 2010.
